More about our speakers below:

Veronika Scott

Veronika Scott—founder and CEO of The Empowerment Plan—has built an organization that began around a single idea: to design a coat specifically for the homeless. The coat is self-heated, waterproof, and transforms into a sleeping bag at night. That idea has now transformed into a system of empowerment in which homeless women are paid to learn how to produce coats for people living on the streets, giving them an opportunity to earn money, find a place to live, and gain back their independence for themselves and their families. Scott is the youngest recipient of the JFK New Frontier Award and a winner of IDSA’s International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) and the Diane von Furstenberg People’s Voice Award. She’s been named one of: Forbes 30 Under 30; Chronicle of Philanthropy‘s 40 Under 40; and CNN’s 10 Visionary Women.

Laura Boccanfuso

Laura Boccanfuso is the CEO and Founder of Van Robotics, a social robotics company dedicated to developing personalized learning tools using AI. Laura has been recognized by companies like McKinsey & Company, SuperCharger Ventures, and Siemens Digital Industries Software. She also received the 2022 SC Women in Business Award and was named Top 10 Most Influential Women in Technology by Analytics Insight. In 2020, Time Magazine named Van Robotics’ ABii robot one of the 100 Best Inventions of 2020. ABii by Van Robotics is now being used in schools and homes in 38 US states and seven countries, and more than 100,000 students and teachers have already benefited from robotic reinforcement in the classroom.
